Hello Readers!

I spend a lot of time scrolling through the pages and pages of discount books on Book Outlet. Most of the time I don’t buy anything, because let’s be honest: I don’t really NEED any more books. But a few weeks ago, while scrolling through, I realized there were several books I wanted.

Throwing caution to the wind, and ignoring the fact that my book shelves are already packed (it gives me a reason to go through and purge some books I no longer want) I ordered four books. Two of the books have been books that I’ve been wanting since I first heard of them. The other two I purchased on a whim, but ones that I think I would really enjoy.

The books I purchased are:

Anne & Henry by Dawn Ius

Beautiful Broken Girls by Kim Savage

Saints and Misfits by S.K. Ali

Apple and Rain by Sarah Crossan

Have you added new books to your collection or to your to be read pile? If so, please share in the comments. I’d love to know!

Hello Readers!

As a book lover, I obviously love to buy books. Strolling through a bookstore, scanning the shelves, and picking up a new to me book (or a book I’ve been dying to read) is quite possibly one of my most favorite past times.

As of recently I’ve been trying to clear shelves and trying even harder to not acquire any more books than what is necessary. I’ve (somewhat) successfully cleared my shelves, finding new homes for old, beloved favorites. But I haven’t been so great at not acquiring any more books.

But then there was that pesky Amazon gift card that was just burning a hole in my pocket.  I couldn’t help but buy a book … or four. And then there are the books I’ve requested, and the books that simply showed up in my mailbox (THANKS Scholastic!).

  • Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy (bought)
  • No Good Deed by Goldy Moldavsky (received ARC from Scholastic)
  • When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon (bought)
  • The Cruel Prince by Holly Black (requested ARC)
  • I Believe In A Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo (bought – Miss Print said I’d love this book. That was enough to make me buy it. And if you’re wondering why she loved it so much, you should check out her review. Check it out here)
  • The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken (requested ARC)
  • Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia (bought- I’ve heard a lot about this book. But it wasn’t until I read Nicole’s (from Nicole’s Novel Reads) review. You can check it out here)
  • Dark Breaks the Dawn by Sara B. Larson (recieved ARC)
  • All About Mia by Lisa Williamson (receieved ARC)

Stacking the Shelves – BEA15 Edition!

Stacking The Shelves

Hello Readers!

It’s been a loooong time since I posted one of these Stacking the Shelves post. But with Book Expo America (BEA15) over and done with, I thought it was the perfect time to bring it back!

Every year I go into Book Expo I go in saying the same thing: I’m going to be selective. I’m not going to get overexcited and grab all the books. And every single year I don’t listen to myself, and I go the wrong way.

And this year was no different.

To kick off my BEA15 recap, I thought it would be fitting and fun to start with the books. While thinking about this recap, I thought about the ways I wanted to highlight and keep track of the BEA books I’m reading. At first I wasn’t sure how to do this. But then I saw, read, and loved Miss Print’s BEA Books recap. I loved it so much so, I told her I was stealing it. And because she’s awesome, and because she’s my BFF she said it was okay. THANKS Emma! You’re awesome, but you already know that!

I also decided to go back to my monthly challenge posts. Honestly, I have no real reason why I fell off.  I think going back to those posts will help keep track of all these BEA15 books. And readers, it’s you’re job to hold me too it!

  • Books in pink are books that I have read and will keep
  • Books in green are books that I have read and will giveaway
  • Books in red are books I didn’t finish or decided not to read
