(Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl)
As a reader it is no surprise that I have a ton of bookish quotes that I just love. Quotes that resonate deeply with me, comfort me, and help make sense of the world I live it. That’s just how powerful they are!
Because of that, this topic wasn’t an easy one. It wasn’t easy because there were just so many great quotes to choose from. But here are the top ten that struck me at this moment:
“The only way to end grief was to go through it.” Ι The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black
“You can never know about your own destiny: are the people you meet there to play a part on your own destiny, or do you exist just to play a role in theirs.” Ι Going Bovine by Libba Bray
“I am a tiny piece of miraculous world.” Ι We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
“Normal is the Holy Grail and only those without it know its value.” Ι One by Sarah Crossan
“For anyone who has been taught that good equals small and silent, here is my heart with all its ugly tangles and splendid fury.” Ι Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart
“It’s said girls are revolutionary soul forces that can change the world for real.” Ι Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Ι Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling.
“You can’t change how other people think and act, but you’re in full control of you.” Ι Dear Martin by Nic Stone
“If you’re going to live, you might as well do painful, brave, and beautiful things.” Ι The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
“I hate seeing fat girls on TV or in the movies, because the only way the world seems to be okay with putting a fat person on camera is if they’re miserable with themselves or if they’re the jolly best friend. Well, I’m neither of those things.” Ι Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
