Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Meant to Read in 2017, But Oops! But Didn’t

(Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. The above image was taken and altered by me for the purpose of this post.)

Hello Readers!

Every year I say I’m going to read a bunch of books. Books that I have had taking up precious shelf space, books that I’ve been dying to read but just haven’t gotten around to them for some reason or another.

And this year. I’m going to, once again, share with you the books I was meaning to read in 2017 and just never got around to.

Let’s keep all of our fingers crossed that 2018 is the year I get those books read!

The Dream Thieves (and the rest of the books in The Raven Cycle) by Maggie Stiefvater.

Wonder Woman: Warbringer (DC Icons #1) by Leigh Bargudo: Since seeing Wonder Woman I’ve been obsessed with Diana and all things Wonder Woman. Obviously I need to read this.

Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard: I’ve owned this book since it came out. I haven’t read it, even though I know I am going to love it.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black: Truth be told, I’ve read most of this book. But I stopped because I was fearful something terrible was going to happen to one of the characters whom I developed an attachment to. But I really have to finish it!

In the Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken: I’ve read the first two books, and with the announcement of the newest book in this series, I really need to read the last one. And possibly re-read the first two.

Warcross by Marie Lu: For some reason I’ve been almost fascinated with this book. And I have had an ARC of it since BEA and haven’t picked it up. I don’t know what is wrong with me.

Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy: I realize that I am a Julie Murphy fan through and through so why I haven’t I read her debut novel yet? I should also add Ramona Blue to this.

Harry Potter Books 3 through 7 by J.K. Rowling: I’ve avoided the HP books for years and years. And you have to understand, I was much older when Harry came into our lives. I honestly never thought I would read these books, but as of late I feel like it’s time. It’s time I see what all the hype is about, it’s time I enter this wizarding world.

The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty: The Exorcist is hands down one of my most favorite horror movies … of all times. So much so that when I visited DC last summer, I visited the famed steps. I’ve wanted to read this book since forever, but a part of me fears it will actually terrify me. A part of me is ready for a good scare, another part of me isn’t.

Re-Read the Fear Street Novels by R.L. Stine: Growing up I’ve read a lot, if not most of the Fear Street novels written by the legend R.L. Stine. But unfortunately, they are only vague memories. Every Halloween season I want to do a feature and a re-read and I never do. Maybe this year will be the year I make Fear Street Fridays a real life blog feature – stay tuned!

There you have it readers! The top ten books I wanted to read last year, but never got around to. I am going to try my hardest, but I make no promises that some of these books may not be on next years list!

What books did you want to read in 2017 but just didn’t? Please share in the comments!
