Take it away, Nicole!

Thank you Nicole for asking me to guest post for the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life Celebration! My name is Nicole and I blog at Nicole’s Novel Reads. Who’s excited for the revival? I know I am! I decided to sort Gilmore Girls characters into Hogwarts houses.  Gilmore Girls and Harry Potter are two of my favorite fandoms and I decided fuse my two loves into a post for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life Celebration.

Hogwarts comprises of four houses with distinct mascots and traits. Some people fall under one house while others share traits from more than one house. The houses include Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Without further ado, let’s jump into the sorting!

GRYFFINDOR values courage, bravery and determination.

gryffindorLorelai Gilmore is courageous and stubborn. She may have been a little reckless when she was younger but her decisions are made in order to do what’s best for her and Rory. Lorelei will do what it takes to survive even it if means living in a shed and working at an inn doing housekeeping when she was a teen.

Secondary house: Slytherin

Luke Danes is strong willed and he is opinionated. He is not afraid to stand up to people. Luke does things and says things without thinking about the consequences. He is very handy and helps Lorelei with fixing up the house. He has no problem helping Lorelei when she is in need.

Secondary House: Hufflepuff

Dean Forester is the protector and is willing to risk his life for others. He often uses brawn over his mind and is impulsive with his actions. Dean will always protect those are important to him.

Christopher Hayden doesn’t want to live in the footsteps of his parents and never had a childhood where he was loved. He wants to live his life to the beat of his own drum. Christopher may be reckless when he is younger, a little bit like Lorelei, but he soon learns how to settle and live a normal life. He is not scared about failure and trying new things. He is quite adventurous.

HUFFLEPUFF values hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty and fair play.

hufflepuffSookie St. James is loyal, hard working and is friendly to everyone. Sookie is an excellent chef and it doesn’t surprise me since Hufflepuff’s common room is located near the kitchen at Hogwarts.

Kirk Gleeson is willing to do almost any job. Although he may not be the brightest bulb, he is hardworking and is willing to help everyone with everything. He tries to make people happy and is very patient about it.

Lane Kim has an outer shell that is a people pleaser. Even though she disproves of many things that her mother does and wants, she will usually abides to Mrs. Kim’s rules. She is very loyal to her family and Rory. She is dedicated to her love for music and she expresses her individuality.

Secondary House: Ravenclaw

Michel Gerard is very sarcastic and a health nut. He can be unpleasant at times but he is very loyal to close friends and family. He doesn’t have the nerve to tell his mother about his healthy eating ways. At first he didn’t tell Lorelei that he wanted to continue working with Lorelei and Sookie at the Dragonfly Inn after they left the Independence Inn. Michel is very loyal and hardworking.

Secondary houes: Slytherin

RAVENCLAW values wit, learning, creativity and wisdom.
ravenclaw
Rory Gilmore loves to learn and she is probably the biggest bookworm on the show. If she had her way, she would probably own all the books she can get her hands on. Rory always has a book on her because you never know when you need one. She also loves having highly intellectual conversations or debates. However, she is hardworking and she doesn’t like confrontation.

Secondary House: Hufflepuff

Richard Gilmore always has his nose in the newspaper. He is very educated about what is going around in world. He may seem a little bit pretentious and snobby sometimes but he sees good in people for the most part.

Secondary House: Slytherin

Jess Mariano is book smart but lacks the motivation to prove that he can succeed academically. He can carry an intellectual conversation if he wants but has this outer shell where he plays like he is too cool for school.

SLYTHERIN values ambition, cunning and resourcefulness.

slytherinParis Gellar is very ambitious. She knows what she wants and know how to achieve what she wants. She wants to be the best at everything and is super competitive. Paris has no problem taking on any task.

Emily Gilmore is cunning. She is very manipulative and is passive aggressive. Social status is very important to her and she is very materialistic.

Taylor Doose is resourceful and competitive. He leads the Stars Hollow community as Town Selectman during meetings and enforces many rules. He knows exactly how to get things done his way even it it means he needs to badger the crap out of Luke and the other townsfolk.

Logan Huntzberger is from a family of “old money.” He always feels entitled and is very arrogant. He actually reminds me of Draco Malfoy in terms of background, family and friends.

Secondary house: Gryffindor
