Hello Readers!

And Happy Valentine’s Day week! With the most romantic holiday a few days away I figured it would be fun to post a themed booklist based on some favorite YA romance themed books.

Now, I’m not typically a straight up romance reader. Most of the books I read have hints of romance and elements of love in some way, shape, or form. With that said, these Valentine’s Day themed booklist may be unconventional, but I promise that all of the books listed below have to do with romance/love in some round about way.

When It Happens by Susane Colasanti: It’s no secret: I’m a HUGE Susane Colasanti fan. I’ve read most of her books by now, but one of my most favorites of hers will forever be When It Happens. Originally published in 2006, When It Happens is about Sara and Tobey. Sarah wants to fall in love, and Tobey  wants Sarah to fall in love with him. Will fate push these two opposites together? You’ll have to read to find out! But I will say this, When It Happens truly examines what happens when you let fate and Cupid into your life!

10798416-1The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith: Come on! How can this book NOT be on this list! Seriously, the word love is in the title! If you couldn’t guess this book is about love at first sight. Hadley isn’t looking forward to the seven hour flight to London. Oliver isn’t looking forward to reason why he’s returning home to London. But when these two meet at the airport gate, fate intervenes and the two find more than they bargained for.

Isla And the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins: Now this wouldn’t be a Valentine’s Day list without a Stephanie Perkin’s novel. And her latest fits the bill. Isla has been in love with Josh ever since she laid eyes on him freshman year. But after a very awkward encounter, Isla has lost all hope in Josh taking an interest in her. Fast forward to senior year, when Josh is single, and Isla is brave enough to make her Josh fantasy a real life reality. Seriously people, these two are quite possibly the most romantic couple … ever! That is, besides Anna and St. Claire and Lola and Cricket!

The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg: 6609714  Now, this most definitely does not seem like it belongs on a booklist like this one. But believe me readers, it totally does. And let me tell you why, this book examines what happens when love goes wrong! Penny Lane has just had her heart broken into a million little pieces by the boy she swore was the one. As she tries to put the pieces of her heart back together, Penny swears off boys. And when the word spreads around her high school, Penny realizes that she isn’t the only girl who has had her heart broken. Banding together, these fierce girls form the Lonely Hearts Club. The reason why this book is on this list is simple: it’s because this book is all about loving yourself!

Famous is Love by Rebecca Serle: If there was ever the most perfect love triangle, it would be found in this book! Famous in Love is about Paige, an aspiring actress who learns that dreams really do come true. No only is she cast as the lead in the next biggest page to screen adaption, but she’s starring alongside quite possibly the hottest Hollywood actor: Rainer Devon. These two have chemistry – both on and off screen. But enter Jordan Wilder, the bad boy who supposedly stole Rainer’s last girlfriend. Stuck in the middle of these two hotties, isn’t an easy role, but someone has to do it. And that someone is Paige! The chemistry that is brewing within the pages is tangible. True romance fans will eat this book up!

23228Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan: Hands down: this is probably the sweetest love story I’ve read. Paul and Noah fall head over heels in love with each other. But when one messes the whole thing up, it’s up to him to make things right and win back the love he lost. The reason why this book is on this list is simple: I love how it makes you think about what people do for love. And I really love how Levithan explores all the emotions that come with being in love with someone.

15745753Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell: This wouldn’t be a real Valentine’s Day inspired list without a book by Rainbow Rowell. I had a really tough time deciding exactly which book of hers to include because all of them are about love in some way. But I decided to go with the book that I first read. The book that made Rainbow Rowell become one of my most favorite authors. Eleanor & Park. This is the kind of love story that takes it’s time. It’s sweet to watch Eleanor & Park’s friendship bloom from friends into something more. The reason why I chose this one is because I feel it shows love’s true colors: the willingness to do anything for the person you love, even if that means giving them up.

This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales: Look closely at the cover. Do you see it? Do you see           15777621the word LOVE hidden among the title? If that isn’t enough of a reason for this to be on the list, than I don’t know what is! Even though the main character  Elise does find someone she’s interested in, this book isn’t about falling in love with another person. It’s about falling in love with yourself. Through many trials and tribulations, Elise discovers the importance of loving yourself. And I think that’s one of the most important kinds of love!
