12 Days of Christmas: Day 4 From Miss Print

Special Feature

Hello Readers!

Welcome to day four of the BookBandit’s first ever holiday feature, the 12 Days of Christmas! I’m so very happy to be hosting this guest blogger today. Why? Cause not only is she a great blogger, but she’s one of my very best in real life friends. You know her as Miss Print, but to me she’s Emma! Today, Miss Print is here to talk about one of her all time favorite books. I know it’s one of her all time faves because a) she’s told me and b) she’s probably urged me to read it at some point or another.  But before jumping into this post, I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to Miss Print for participating in this feature! And readers, you should totally check out her blog if you haven’t already.

DayFour

Regular readers of Miss Print might have noticed that I recommend Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones as a possible pairing for almost everything I review. It is one of the first fantasies I picked up when I started reading YA and it remains one of my most favorite books. (It has a perpetual spot in my Top Five Books of ALL TIME.) So when Nicole asked me to come up with a gift pack centered around a book, I knew there was really only one choice–especially since Fire and Hemlock was repackaged in 2012 and finally has a really lovely cover to match its really lovely story.

Since Fire and Hemlock is a book about the power of story, I’d include a notebook and pen with it. The main character Polly is also a writer so it works on that level as well.

The story also includes artwork so I’d add a nice art print. Since Fire and Hemlock is a retelling of Tam Lin, it only makes sense for that print to be a Tam Lin one.
