9. The footnotes. Most people think that footnotes sometime detract from the story (giving too much information away, whether that information rather be acquired on ones own), some think they are stuffy and unnecessary. But truth be told – the footnotes featured in the Ruby Oliver books add to the story, and are really, really funny!
